Many trainers and fighters nowadays are
Always focusing on conditioning rather than the Technique itself, now look I'm not saying that all the trainers doesn't teach the right Techniques or doesn't focus on developing the right Techniques but in each situation in MMA whether it's a new fight or you got a new belt or you got a heavy opponent to spar with there has to be Efficient Techniques to use in order to control and finish the fight, the skill of finishing the fight with the useful and Efficient Techniques is the key for all Energy development in MMA more than any fight camp or conditioning, if you look at the khabib nurmagomedov or other Dagestany fighters their Techniques are specific and Efficient, for example, the Technique that khabib always used to do and been taught by his father is Sambo/grappling which you see always, take the guy down and always going for the takedown and finishing the rear- naked choke , believe all those takedowns or grappling Techniques he didn't learn it in America its all the techniques he mastered that works on everyone, I mean of course he is strong but isn't just about that it's about the Technique, so in any position in MMA there is specific techniques that you should know well and master it and you'll get the finish, but before we get into that let's first think what does it mean to master a skill or master a certain technique, isn't just to learn the technique and keep on repeating it 1000 times or submitting people with it but it's about knowing first 3 important things:
Where is the kazushi ( breaking opponent balance)
Control
Leverage
After you know this 3 things you might know the move but otherwise forget about it and I'll explain why , because if you know how to do something and you mastered it then you have to be able to explain it very well and teach it at the same time, it's same thing as a physical therapist that knows the human Anatomy about any type of joint within your body and why is moving that way ,you think he is going to answer you by saying ,oh' it'd because it restrict improper movement... no!! That's not the answer, or same thing like an high-school that teaches math or whatever you got my point.
You gotta master what is Efficient and important in MMA, let's say for example there is 1,000 submissions in jiu-jitsu from the mount Control but do you really have to know all of them to win the fight? Absolutely not because you don't need so many you just need a few that are useful to win the fight and I'm going to give you an example:
the back take ,the rear naked-choke
I'm 100% sure that if you know the transitions to the back take you are a good grappler because everything leads to the back and take the back that is always the best , of course it might be hard but if you actually know how to master the single/double leg and pass the guard and take the back you are a good grappler , as you see and must always watch that most MMA finishes ending up in rear naked choke that's why it so important to master it like any other grappling legends, Demian-Mia, khabib nurmagomedov, Charles olivera and .... but if you not good at it you better start work on it ,it's either you choking someone or you getting choked.
