who is the most important and recpected fighter in the ufc history

Updated: Mar 13

Today guys I wanna speak about glover teixeira and why in my opinion is the most

important and recpected guy in the ufc.

Glover texeira became the oldest man ufc champion after such a hardship and challenges that he went through, Glover teixeira crossed the border illegally together with his mom to come to America for a better life, he came to America when he was 19 years old 5 years after his brothers came here, I just saw the way he was explaining his journey to america through the border its was like a horror movie, sometimes we don't really know what really people went through and why they so successful, its basically : no pain-no gain, but here is more than that, he was explaining how he had no food and how dangerous was it to cross the border and all this crazy story, but i don't think is the most important fighter just because of that, the way he started practicing martial arts is when he first joined a boxing gym to learn how to punch people in the face

and after few months of training he started to compete in amateur boxing fights, but after he got lost the last fight after his friend throw the towel in the 3th round he stopped with boxing.

but after that his friend offered him a better idea which is to fight in the ufc, after he watched tape about mma he was hooked away and joined a jiu-jitsu gym and began to train with purple belts,6 months after training texiera convinced his coach to find him a fight after he wasnt really ready yet to compete, his opponent was eric schwarts a teamate of chuck liddell, the first round he was dominating but the second round he finished him from the mount. after schwartz coach john hackelmen saw teixeira performance and was impressed by that and invited him to join to his team, after many fights that he was winning many organizations came to him and asked him to sign a contract with him but he realized that he couldnt because of his legal status here, and cant fight in japan neither beacause he cant leave the country, he wouldve made 10k for a fight if he was be able to sign the contract, he spoke with his lawyer and he told him the best way is to go back to brazil and write a letter and ask the consulate for forgivness , but he still stayed in the us for 5 years until dana white told him ,go get your papers and you in the ufc , so he did as he said.

he took the risk of never be able to come back to the country but he had no choice ,since ufc waiting already for him and chuck liddell even told him youll be a champion this guys cant handle you.texeira got denied for a visa after his first attempt and he was questioning himself whether he will really be able to achieve his dream a become a or not beacause of a stupid mistake he did years ago, he was a heart broken and didnt know what to do. after that he told his coach in brazil that he still want continue to fight until his legal situation will get fixed , after a year, two, three and nothing happened ,no any response about a visa and just nothing. the consulate said that he have to wait and he had no choice. The situation finally changed when Teixeira’s wife decided to pen a letter to democrat Chris Murphy, a junior senator for Connecticut, who then swooped in to intervene.

Teixeira was asked to return to the consulate on Dec. 23, 2011, the date of his wife’s birthday, for another interview.

Three days later, his passport came back with a visa.

he just couldnt believe that and of course was crying from happiness, after that he started his career in the ufc and the rest his history. In retrospect, Teixeira lost years of his prime battling for a visa and will never get those years back. But he also kept proving people wrong after the loss to Jones.

now just ask yourself this question, if i were in his shoes would i go back or stay in the us keep working and getting paid cash and practice mma sometimes or would i go back to my country and either never see America anymore or maybe comeback again, i can tell you that 99% of people wouldnt do it beacause once you think about it you just cant find a solution in your head, is like you thinking, '' ok well ill go back and thats it the career is over''. but his mindset was completly diffrent from an average human being, even though after he came back and got no response he kept fighting with no hesitation, is basically sounds like, ''why are you fighting for no purpose''?i really dont know how a person was keeping himself motivated and to fight after being in a such situation like that and keep hoping for his way back to the country, i knew glover teixeira for a long time but i didnt knew his story , only after i saw his winning the ufc title in the age of 42 against jan blachowicz only then i saw everything he spread his real secret,in reality guys nobody can judge him and say that he became a champion in that age or he couldnt get a contract beacause he thats was his problem that he crossed the border, what would you do if you were in his shoes? if you were born in a small town where you have to earn pennies to make a living and to survive, and gang members are everywhere, so you looking for something better beacause you have no choice, besides that, he didnt know that he would like MMA and will want to compete in the ufc, for sure if he wouldve known that he wouldnt do this mistake .

we can see from here that in life the real strength isnt the physical strength , is the inside and the mindset and strong they are, how you able to deal with emergency situations, or when in life you have challenges how do you handle them? glover was able to handle them, maybe jon jones is the goat,or khabib is the goat but i dont think that they would be able to go through what teixeira went through , right ,any fighter has a good and bad times but , with all the recpect to jon jones do you really think he would be able to handle that and still keep fighting after you dont even know what are you fighting for? for what purpose? maybe just for fun? so probably no with any disrecpect but you guys understand my point, teixeira is a real warrior and a family man that didnt gave up and didnt let his emotions to control him, one of the most important signs of alpha-male is the one who isnt letting his emotions to control him, but rather his mindset is the one who is in control, god made him a miracle by getting a visa beacause he didnt give up, good things happens to everyone who is waiting and not giving up, there is no such thing that bad things happening to good people is just an excuse, if you want you can change everything and just dont make excuses and say things like. '' oh this guy born in this country and im an immigriant of course he can succeed right away and get everything done, im sure that teixeira didnt said that about chuck liddell and he still made it, how? beacause of the state of mind period.

im sure that teixeira wouldve be able to win jamahal hill if he was younger, it wasnt enough for him just to get his visa and be in the ufc as an average fighter and get paid few thousands dollars but even though after all this waste of years which in reality he didnt waste but he kept fighting , but all this years that he couldnt get a ufc contract he still after that came back to fight and the age wasnt matter to him, and he fight like a real savage with a lion-heart in his 40s and won the title, i still cant believe that that really happened, you never know the inside of the person until youll not know him close enough, dont judge a book by its cover , sometimes you can see people who seems to be happy with a lambo and a huge house ad fame , but in reality he is empty inside and why? beacause of family problems and his wife not respecting him so dont believe everything that you see, you can see a nerd that looks like a nerd but can beat you up in real life, you can see example of mikey musumeci that made himself like that but beating up everyone in jiu jitsu, even brian ortega after his second victory over yair rodrigez he that he lost his best friends and he got betrayed by people who were close to him and that he had four surgeries back to back, but he said that now im married and have kids thats the is the most important thing in life is a lovely family, and teixeira achieved both , his dream of becoming a champion and create a beautiful family in america.

thats i give so much recpect for this man and in my eyes is the goat of mma of the whole time,

thanks so much guys for reading and i hope you guys enjoyed , please i would like to hear your opinions in comments below.
